Shining Nests

Shining Nests (2016) is a 25-minute immersive experience that draws upon set and scored movement. The work incorporates the use of cardboard boxes to create intimate spaces where the performers and guests mutually craft private exchanges, and an ethics of care is practiced. Through the incorporation of these boxes, the work asks: How might these physical props serve as a portal where memories surface, however fallible, allowing for a physical and fictional nesting to take place?

The following rehearsal video is an improvisatory score that asks the performers to split the unit of assumed movement.
